Something to hold onto as the year begins.

The year 2020 has come to an end, and, every one of us knows where we are today against all odds. If not for anything, we thank God for life. We do not know what 2021 has in stock for us all, we all just hope for the best, but, as we hope for the best, are we working towards being the best? We all don't need to become the best in a day, but, do we have plans ahead of us? Truly, we planned for so many things in 2020, and, probably, if not all, just a few of this plan of ours came to the fore. It was even during the ups and downs of 2020 that some people realized they have opportunities in them that they never knew.      There's so much to achieve when we plan and set a goal. A goal is deeper than just mere hope, a goal is beyond physical thinking, it's beyond faith, you can't be a man of faith, and not set goals. Oh! Come 2021, I want to do this, I want to do that; take your plans beyond physical thinking, make them into goals, and, discipline, yourself on how to

LADIES, STAY WOKE!

I have come to realize over time that we ladies have to stay woke! I mean, the rate at which ladies nowadays feel entitled to men’s money irks me. I do not want to sound angry, but, as a lady, you have to complement your man, you have to encourage him. I have heard stories from men who some ladies feel entitled to their money, and, they just generalize their decision on ladies. I mean, no one hates money, but, work hard, and, make your own money, too. It is normal to ask for a helping hand, but, you have to be humble about it, you just can’t say you need something from him, and, he has to do it no matter what. Guys have gone beyond that level of entitlement o. Ehn, you are my boyfriend, and, you know I will be needy sometimes, and, you saw that I was jobless when you approached me, this, and, that; madam, if you both are not legally married, he doesn’t own you yet, don’t forget that. Have you met intelligent and hardworking ladies? Ladies who fend for themselves, ladies who

A JANITOR; A CEO, TREAT THEM WITH THE SAME RESPECT!

There is this short story about a janitor at a fish factory (cold room), you know most of the times, people might just walk into a company or an establishment without reckoning the security personnel on duty, but, this story actually shook me, so to say. There was this lady who works in a cold room, any time she resumes duty in the morning, she greets the janitor, and, when she is about leaving, she does the same thing.  She does this virtually every day. Being the only worker who actually reckons with the janitor, it makes the janitor feel human as well, he feels valued as a human. So, there was this day she resumed duty, she did the same thing, made the janitor feel that same importance he had always felt, but, there was something unusual about that particular day; there was no one to say good night to him at 6 pm. He was certain something was wrong that evening because he actually got a good morning. He racked his brain for a while, and then, he decided to check all offices.

FEW THINGS ONE HAS TO STOP IMMEDIATELY!

There are a number of things one needs to stop to grow immensely in whatsoever one does, and, to actually make a difference in this world where everyone seems to copy each other, one has to follow these few things. 1. You need to put a stop to comparing yourself to others. Your mates might have made it than you, it is normal, just push yourself to do more, not forgetting your purpose in life. Everyone has gone through and is going through some processes to make it, so, if you haven’t started your journey to stardom, start now.  Focus on your growth, and, let it be in alignment with your purpose. Your time would definitely come. 2. Quit pleasing people, stop doing things you really don’t want to do, let your NO be NO; your YES   be YES, and, let people know you for who you really are. It is normal to put yourself in others' shoes, but, let it not be at the detriment of your own growth, love your neighbor as yourself not more than yourself.  3. Stop giving excuses, when you make a

CHECKMATE YOUR CIRCLE!

I have come to realize that not everyone in your circle presently has to be in your circle forever.  Sometimes, to actually move forward consistently, you need to evaluate your network. Check it, check what some persons in your circle actually bring to the table, this is far from hate, really, not everyone has to be with you on your journey to stardom.  If really, you want to take charge of your own future, then, you decide what to do about it yourself and who should be with you on that journey. Give less attention to an individual who adds no value to you and your friendship. Valueless relationships and friendships should take none of your time, time is golden, and it waits for no one. Evaluating your circle has to do with promoting, demoting, subtracting, and adding. Your creator has given your life to you so you can be the CEO, be in charge of it. Do not give anybody the right to drive your life for you. I see an individual’s life as a vehicle that should be driven by that person in

Is what you view rejection as really rejection?

Never get saddened when you are rejected. Rejection should be seen as God's protection. If you get rejected somewhere somehow; God hasn’t placed you to be there. Don’t beat yourself up when you get rejected, be thankful. Something greater is coming

MEDIOCRITY: A SUCCESSFUL MAN'S CHOICE? NEVER!

When I finished secondary education, it's no news that dealing with O'level results and JAMB would be the next thing, it's also no news that one passes these exams by luck, except you are exceptionally brilliant, a genius to say. I wrote WASSCE and NECO in my school, I didn't pass because there was mass failure (that was my excuse though). When I told my dad I failed because there was mass failure, he asked, "did everyone actually fail?", I could not answer. Then he asked me if it was a must I join the masses in failing, I still couldn't give an answer to that, but, I held on to those questions. I registered for WASSCE again, read, wrote and passed, I knew I got lucky, it wasn't as if I read so much. I sat for JAMB examination as well and I did pass.        I got admitted into tertiary institution, and, truth be told, I met unpleasant situations and stories, no one had a good news about any course there, I thought within myself "this wasn't
