IS COVID-19 A CURSE OR A BLESSING?

Everyone has their views on what Covid-19 is, some see it as a curse, some view it as a result of our sins, some view it as an agent to stagnancy, people have said a lot about it, but, I see it as a blessing in disguise.
Before covid-19, there was noise everywhere, journeys upon journeys, meetings upon meetings, you get calls here and there, you attend conferences to get updated about things around you, noise was absolutely everywhere, and suddenly, silence! Everywhere got shutdown, borders, schools, worship centers, airlines, businesses, offices, everywhere got silenced.
Now, everyone is back at home, businessmen, students, civil servants, public servants, virtually everyone. Those parents who never had time for their children now have enough time, those who do not know a particular character of a child gets to know the child more, spouses who never showed each other intimate love due to the nature of their businesses now do, everything in the home changes, a child who is not doing well at school gets revealed in a way or the other, children gets to see their parents more often, the list of changes that have occurred due to this pandemic goes on and on.
The essential thing that this season has given everyone is Time. It is now left to us as individuals to know how to spend our time. Time is basically seen as a currency, currencies are used in purchasing items, consumables, e.t.c. During this pandemic, some people have time for absolutely nothing. They just sleep, eat and play away their time, the tragedy in this is that, by the time everyone gets back to work, they realize they have gained absolutely nothing and a few of them will actually regret when everything gets back to normal and they realize what some people have grown to become. Some youths that are meant to learn new skills, do online courses and the likes are seen on  social media platforms doing all sorts, making tiktok videos, making thriller videos and all, these things are not bad, but, they have to be checkmated as time waits for no man. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, in reverse, all play and no work makes Jack an idle boy, and, an idle hand is the devil’s workshop. Covid-19 is all about time, and a simple question to ask is “What did you do with it?”
Three things Covid-19 has taught me are:
- Time Management: How well do you manage your time?
- Character: Who you are in private is your character, what you do in private define you. What then are you doing in private? What does your inn looks like?
- Reality: This is actually very funny. We all as humans have made plans for this year, ohh, by March, I should be done with this, ohh, I will start this by April. By 20, by 30, by 45, I should be this and that, and then, by so so time, I will launch it. Different plans flying around in the air, then, boom! Reality strikes. Planning is absolutely important, but, we all need to stop judging our lives with dates. Sometimes, life happens, we all had plans for 2020, but God and Covid-19 had plans as well. Reality humbled everyone, even our leaders. Truly, man proposes, God disposes. In all, we all should just keep moving.
