I WILL GET BACK TO YOU!

I WILL GET BACK TO YOU!
As someone into a business or the other. You probably sell something and need people's patronage and you get a customer who you have discussed business with, obviously, that has got your hope really high and at the end of discussion, all you hear is "I will get back to you".
I know how that statement feels, it downs the business owner's spirit most of the time, especially, a just starting business. The seller's spirit, soul and body will definitely be there and he/she might keep on marketing to you holding on to you getting back to him/her. We are different individuals and how we take statements varies. Some might not count the statement so serious, they are probably used to it, but, some would actually take it to heart and really expect you to keep to your words. And, as long as you repeat that statement to them, they keep marketing their businesses to you.
Customers and clients, there are actually better ways to put this that won't make these business owners get discouraged. I sometimes love being blunt, like, just make this person know you might not actually get back so that their minds won't really be there. You can just tell a seller you would let him/her know IF you would purchase anything and, that might actually ease their minds a bit. It is better than you saying you would get back to them. And, if truly you'd get back to them, actually get back to them. Purchase something no matter how little. It might actually take a while, but, do not make it too long a while. If you know you wouldn't get back, don't say you would get back.
The same thing applies to employers of labor, the HR departments especially. When you get applicants' CV or, you interview them and, at the end, your statement to them is "we will get back to you", knowing fully well that their minds will be there, be straightforward. If you know you wouldn't employ them, give them an ultimatum of the duration of days they should expect a feedback, probably, five days; after the fifth day, I bet they wouldn't expect feedbacks again. If you would get back to them, really, then, get back to them. Even if it is a rejection, they would accept it and take their minds off it.
To pros and cons of what I have been saying is that, get back to whosoever you have promised to get back to or, find a better way of putting it without getting their hopes so high.
